Through using symbolic imagery taken from the themes throughout Cat’s Cradle, Slaughterhouse 5, Bluebeard and Breakfast of Champions, the reader will be able to “read the book by its cover”. In order to achieve a synopsis on each cover, I scanned found ephemera to collage with expressive typography to convey the dark satire throughout each book.
Along with the collaged pieces on the cover, I have incorporated transparent circles and circles with text to show the layers and depth within each book. The circles with text will display repetitive or important phrases that share relevance to the covers of all four novels. Each book has been rebound to become hardcover copies with redesigned title pages.
